Can I Set Exposure Times On My Galaxy Note 8 Camera

  1. I don't practice selfies a lot, so this area of the camera is actually sort of new to me.

Anyhow, I was messing effectually this forenoon with my new keyboard/workstation and idea I'd make a little progress video for the family. I recorded about a 1 minute of video with the front photographic camera and... it's a mirror image of reality! Left is correct and correct is left!

I opened the rear camera & took a quick video, and everything is fine. There are no settings that I could have accidentally tapped to capture opposite images and videos, and then any advice is appreciated!

    1. Download the Forums for Android™ app!

      Download

  2. Some camera apps do that past default... It's normal. If your camera app doesn't have an option to get rid of that, consider getting another camera app...
  3. I've noticed that my Pixel's front photographic camera appeared reversed when taking a picture or video, but the bodily recorded image is the correct fashion circular (in fact investigating this phenomenon is the only time I've used the front end camera - I'one thousand actually non a fellow member of generation selfie! ;)). The best caption I could come up up with is that some people might observe framing easier this way (I'thousand not one of them, but I can see it). Just really recording the prototype reversed seems strange. You are certain there'due south no "mirror" option in the settings anywhere? I don't know the Samsung app, but I accept institute it in some camera apps earlier (though I've never looked for forepart videos until today, and neither of the apps I take has that equally a front video option).

On my s7 border running on Oreo, I have the option to "Save images as previewed", i.due east. flipped. The text implies it only affects photos, but I tested it and information technology affects videos too.

    What @Xyro posted,

This same screen is on the note 8 in the camera settings.

  6. What I ended up doing was immigration enshroud and resetting the photographic camera settings to default. Worked!

Only am I to understand that Samsung designed a camera that, by default, captures a photo or video, flips the paradigm so right is left and left is correct, and SAVES information technology that way unless a user specifically tells it not to???

  7. Well if resetting the camera settings to default fixed it so it doesn't sound similar they made it the default. Why information technology should be an option in the first place yet seems foreign to me though, as I'd have thought that the number of people wanting mirror videos would be almost zero.
  8. It'due south a technique used in post editing. Imagine a character exiting screen left only to reappear in the new ready screen right. It tin can be very disorientating for the viewer, unless that'south what you want to practise.
